Our project arises from the shared vision of creating cutting-edge tools to promote psychological well-being and facilitate therapeutic intervention.
We are psychologists and psychotherapists, technologists and designers, researchers and storytellers; all professionals with the awareness of the benefits that a transformative experience can bring to people’s lives.
Based on over twenty years of studies and researches on the therapeutic potential of Virtual Reality, Augmented Psychology enriches traditional paradigms of psychological support and well-being in clinical setting (anxiety, depression, phobias, post-traumatic stress disorder, relational and sexual problems, alexithymia, low self-esteem and negative cognitions, burnout, addictions,…) and in working environment (work-related stress, empowerment, creativity).
We realize Virtual Reality immersive experiences which allow patients to live perceptive states for positive change, offering analogical stimulations bringing insights, elaborations and restructuring.
Psychologists and psychotherapists can thus have a simple and effective integrative tool of psychological and therapeutic support, regardless of the adopted approach.
We provide immersive experiences which allow companies to offer to employees Virtual Reality paths designed to reduce stress, promote empowerment, boost creativity.
HR Managers can thus have an extra tool to mitigate work-related stress and technostress, giving relaxation to colleagues, contributing to positive work climate and Corporate Wellness.
We develop highly-custom Virtual Reality contents for psychological research and practice, through the collaboration of prestigious scientific institutions.
Cognitive science researchers can thus benefit of using virtual environments characterized by high visual fidelity, thanks to the use of state-of-the-art 3D graphical engines and modelling skills.
for clinical practice
This section is dedicated to Virtual Reality immersive experiences available for the psychologists’ clinical practice. To be used, the experiences require an Augmented Psychology Protocol (APP) certificate of competency, which can be achieved by enrolling to the Advanced Training Course in Augmented Psychology.
for relaxation and distraction therapy
Each high-definition (4K) immersive experience is available in 3D/360, Virtual Reality (VR) and, in some cases, Augmented Reality (AR) formats. These experiences can be used on every VR headset (in this section are reported the most common models).
Advanced Training Courses in Augmented Psychology are aimed at Psychologists, Psychotherapists, Medical Doctors enrolled in their respective Professional Registers and at graduates in Psychology and Medicine.
The Certificate enabling the use of the Augmented Psychology Protocol (APP) will be issued only to mental health professionals.
Augmented Psychology is based on the results of over twenty years of researches in the field of Virtual Reality applications in mental health and wellbeing. Below is a selection of meta-analysis and systematic reviews summarizing the main results of these researches. The results indicate the potential of Virtual Reality in different areas of psychotherapy, such as anxiety disorders, pain treatment, eating disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder and work-related stress.
